about

The album that never was... Take a deep breath and a large step back into the past, as we peel back the curtain on Infernal Symphony's earliest beginnings!! For 'Unholy Persecution', despite common knowledge, was not the first album this band recorded, merely the first released...

Prepare yourselves for a secret and suprise release like no other! Released 3 years to the day that our official debut came out, and six years since it was originally recorded, here we brandish the previously-unreleased material that was in fact the first full album Demonic Bishop ever recorded, just in time for Infernal Symphony's 5th Anniversary!

Infernal Hordes, we welcome you to an infernal sight like nothing seen before! Recently rediscovered, remastered and reordered, 'Abbatoir Of Agony - The Dead Demos' 14' is a collection of the earliest tracks, demos and workings of Demonic Bishop's artistic output way before the essence of Infernal Symphony was crystallised into it's truest, contemporary form. 'Unholy Persecution', recorded 2015-2016, released in 2017 - was our first official album, but the songs I created before that which informed the sound, process, technique and ideas that were to come is here in it's truest original form. So here it is - 'Abbatoir of Agony', the prototype that all future Infernal Symphony albums would be based upon.

Infernal Symphony is a project that was started, at its most basic level, as a method of getting revenge, the creation of evil, and practicing guitar. The thought was, I figured if I could create and record an album, that process would naturally improve my skills, allowing me to start my solo career and make a name for myself with a project that was finally one to call my own.

After being fired from Incinery, I was filled with incandescent rage, and fuelled by revenge. That utter darkness, anger and frustration was channelled into sickening black metal, excruciating feedback, primitive progressive death metal, devilish noise and somber melody, all of which has been preserved and documented within this exceptionally special release.

Despite originally deciding at the time that the finished album wasn't worthy of release, now that time has passed and I have re-listened to these tracks for the first time in over 5 years, I felt that now the time was right to provide the world the true backstory of this malficent, magnificent metal project.

Here, you will unlock the mysteries of how the unique and colossal sound of Infernal Symphony truly begun, how it was warped and formed, and why Unholy Persecution remains our most popular album to date. Showcasing a sound that informed our debut, along with honestly the most crushingly oppressive prescence our material has ever known, this lumbering behemoth of an album is a far cry from the maturity, technicality and quality of our recent work, but is nevertheless an important stepping stone towards what we are today.

The album was originally created under the guise 'Amputheatre', and was to be titled Abbatoir Of Agony. Now, finally, upon its release it bears the subtitle 'The Dead Demos' 14' because the original title of the project was killed to make way for the moniker 'Infernal Symphony' and these tracks were mostly recorded in 2014.

A monumental piece of Infernal Symphony history, forgotten and thought lost, has now re-emerged from the ether to aurally destroy and torture any whom dare to listen to it, 6 years after it was originally recorded. Witness the true birth of Infernal Symphony, and much like our trajectory, the rest is history.

Celebrate the 5 year anniversary of Infernal Symphony's creation, and enjoy with treacherous jubilance. You will never be the same again.
