3 years in the making, we are ready to finally unleash our ultimate masterwork - A magnum opus, epic in scale, monumental in ambition, and intimidating to listen to.

Feast your eyes on 'Tapestry Of Torment' - the much-teased and long-awaited concept album by Infernal Symphony. This is the result of 3 years of planning, writing, and waiting. It follows the elaborate tale of a modern-day Christian, venturing too far down a museum on an ill-advised excursion, who happens upon a forbidden tapestry hidden beneath the locked vaults of the museum building. Upon touching said tapestry, the young man is transported through time into the middle of an arid desert, somewhere in the Middle East at some lost point during the world's Middle Ages.

After almost succumbing to the blinding heat and extreme conditions, he finds himself caught up in the middle of a war, a crusade between the indigenous population and the tyrannical Christian insurgents. Blood is spilled, death and destruction are abound and very few are left alive.

After having saved his life, he becomes bound to the service of one of the Christian army commanders, and is enlisted into the local militia by force in order to carry out their orders. The group marches onward through the claimed territory, stumbling upon a ghost town in the Egyptian desert, stricken by a sickness and infested by plague. But what is this plague? Locusts? Disease? Or the very thing invading them?

A vision appears to the young man, stating that all is not as it seems, and that strange foes will test his will and challenge his worldview. Meanwhile, the forces of Satan approach, as part of their rank dies a slow, gruesome and horrible death at the hands of the Christian crusaders.

Taken aback by this act of brutality, our hero begins to question his resolve. He decides to defect to the followers of Lucifer, to try his hand at surviving the Left Hand Path. He witnesses their methods of converting believers to their cause, and while it is at odds with his beliefs and upbringing, he notices it is at least more humane than the Christian methods of slaughter. War is a terrible endeavour no matter which side you call yours, but there is at least some salvation to be had if you know where to look.

They approach a mysterious burial chamber, hidden under the baking sands, for which his satanic company prepare a clandestine black magic ritual, to bind him to their cause. Within, they hear rumor of a prophecy, that when the forbidden one arrives, the victor will be granted eternal life.

As the satanists lick their wounds, the Christian forces ready their next siege, burning the bridges literally and figuratively to their foes by massacring all nearby towns and villages in the name of God, believing their calling to be true.

The satanists travel by nightfall, making a pilgrimage across the barren wastes in search of allies and supplies to help them finally beat back their adversaries. Finally, they reach their goal, and join forces with the mighty, unholy and legendary Goddess of the Coven. This witch's black magic could aid them in their quest, and perhaps is the key to them reclaiming their home from the vicious assault by the religious invaders.

The Christian 'hero' of our tale begins to question the prophecy he has heard, and furthermore his own beliefs, as he witnesses yet more Christian savagery as they slay the sacred Goddess and take back control. They ransack the satanic encampments without mercy, obliterate all opposition and leave him reeling, forcing him to flee just to have any hope of leaving alive.

He reflects on his journey thus far. All he has witnessed, all he has survived... What is the true meaning of good and evil?? Beliefs inform actions, and as he takes a moment to reflect, he knows which actions are the ones he truly agrees with.

Reaching a neutral town, as yet unaffected by this monumental conflict of beliefs, he witnesses a soothsayer and local prophet preaching the 'good' name of God - the ultimate hypocrisy after every thing he has gone through. With his previous life in our time a distant memory, and after the pain and torment experienced after losing those who took him in and saved his life, he finally unleashes his rage and kills those who speak the name of God - a being he feels sickened to have ever been associated with.

Was the prophecy a lie?? Did he receive the benefits of the Goddess' magic? And how will he escape back to the modern world, if he can at all?

He can answer none of these questions. But one thing he does know - is that he calls himself Christian no more.

TAPESTRY OF TORMENT

This work is the culmination of 3 years of blood, sweat, frustration, creation and tears. This is unlike anything we have attempted before. This album is the reason for Infernal Symphony's existence - the album we were always destined to make.

It takes all the best parts of what has come before, and turns them on its head. A concept double album where EVERY song is astounding, necessary, and valuable. They said it couldn't be done. But we are here to prove them wrong. A tale of good and evil, right and wrong, history and the future, God and Satan. A captivating journey through time, warfare, prophecy, the middle ages, the crusades, and black magic.

The Infernal Symphony you thought you knew is dead. Long live the king.

Demonic Bishop had these words to say - 'I am immensely proud and excited to share this album with you all, as it represents not only the largest step forward for us in terms of songwriting, ambition, concept, sound and professionalism, but is also the result of many, many nights of hard work, re-writes, and phenomenal bursts of furious, note-scribbling creativity.

This album is a line in the sand, a flag plunged proudly into the scorched earth for every solo project, amateur musician and music fan who yearns for something more, dares to dream big and is not content with merely more of the same. This is evolution, revolution and hopefully a milestone for one man projects everywhere and I can't wait for you guys to hear it!

This has some of my most inventive, perilous, insane, extreme and beautiful music contained within that I have ever, ever committed to tape. Enjoy, and join me for this painful pilgrimage. '
